Mayan Calendar
On Dec. 21, 2012,  the Maya's "Long Count" calendar marks the end of a 5,126-year era. On the winter solstice in 2012, our sun and our Earth will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years. One galactic day of 25,625 years is divided into five cycles of 5,125 years.

The Mayans knew that our Sun, Kinich-Ahau, on special days is synchronized with the enormous central galaxy. And from this central galaxy receives a 'spark' of light which causes the Sun to shine more intensely. This energy is the tree of life. The Mayans say that this happens every 5,125 years. But also that this causes a displacement in the earths rotation, and because of this movement great catastrophes would be produced. They predicted that during these times, solar winds would become more intense and could be seen on the Sun. This would be a time of great realization and great change for mankind and it would be our own lack of preservation and contamination of the planet that would contribute to these changes. According to the Mayans, these changes would happen so that mankind comprehends how the universe works so we could advance to superior levels, leaving behind superficial materialism and liberating ourselves from suffering. The Mayans say, that seven years after the start of Katún, which is 1999, we would enter a time of darkness which would force us to confront our own conduct. They say that this is the time when mankind will enter 'The Sacred Hall of Mirrors'. Where we will look at ourselves and analyze our behaviors with ourselves, with others, with nature and with the planet in which we live. A time in which all of humanity, by individual conscious decisions, decides to change and eliminate fear and lack of respect from all of our relationships. The Mayans prophesied that the start of this period would be marked by a solar eclipse on August 11, 1999, known to them as 13 Ahau, 8 Cauac. And would coincide with an unprecedented planetary alignment, the Grand Cross alignment. This would be the last 13 years of the Katón period. The last opportunity for our civilization to realize the changes that are coming at the moment of our spiritual regeneration.

The Dresden Mayan Codex: In 1519, Hernan Cortez navigated the Yucatan coastline during the his conquest travels of the New world. The Dresden Mayan Codex was one of the many treasures  he sent to the King of Spain. The Mayan Dresden codex  originally came from Chichen Itza during the post-classical Maya period, in 1250 AD. This beautifully crafted ancient Mayan manuscript has been an important key for the study and understanding of Mayan Gods, numbers, hieroglyphs and writing.  The codex contains important description of the Mayan Cosmos-vision, holistic understanding of mankind, the planet, gods, and astronomical events. The Dresden Codex also contains a Mayan ceremonial calendar for the different Mayan gods, tables of solar and lunar eclipses, calculations of the planet movements,  and many Mayan cultural traditions.
The Mayan Calendar of 365 days is called "Haab;" it is divided into 18 months of 20 days, each with a period of 5 days left over at the end of the year. This short 5 day month is called "Uayeb," the resting of the year.

The most important calendar cycle for the Maya is Tzolkin, a ritual calendar of 260 days It is composed of 13 months, each with 20 days. Every day in the 260 day calendar has a unique corresponding position in time as well as in the "Haab" or the solar 360 + 5 day Maya calendar. Each day's position in the calendars only repeats itself every 52 solar
years.

A cycle of 52 solar years, called the Sacred Calendar Round intermeshes with both Haab and Tzolkin calendars to form a calendar system of the Maya's Cosmo-vision and time. There is one more calendar, the Long Count, a linear calendar interpretation of time.

THE MAYA LONG COUNT: The Maya calculated dates millions of years in the past and the future for ritual purposes with the use of their "Long Count," or date calendar, which records the total number of days that have elapsed since their zero day 0.0.0.0.0 that can be correlated to August 2nd, 3114 B.C. in our Gregorian calendar. The present Haab calendar cycle will end on 13.0.0.0.0 or December 21st, 2012 A.D. in our Gregorian calendar which will mark the winter equinox. The slow wobbling of the earth's polar axis causes the precession of equinoxes, also known today as the Platonic Year, this was well known by ancient Maya timekeepers, or sky-watchers, and played an important part in ancient Mayan gods, sacred ceremonies, Cosmo-vision and Mayan mythology.

December 21st, 2012 Winter Solstice marks not only the conclusion of the Haab but also of the Maya Long Count calendar (recording the time it takes for the Solar System to return to the same positional space within the Milky Way). In astronomic terms that date is when the Sun will conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the Solar System's ecliptic cycle; this rare astronomical event was calculated with extreme exactitude by the ancient Mayan

Mayan mythology foretells the creation story of the Hero Twins and the end of the present Haab (solar year) which interlock with the end of the Long Count calendar cycle; this rare cosmic event, the cross formed by the intersecting Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic path of our solar system, was symbolized with a Ceiba Sacred Tree of Life by ancient Maya and marked the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new era.

The Mayans symbolized the place where life force begins and ends with Ceiba-The tree of life, and they believed that in the center of the galaxy there exists a point known as Hunab Ku. This is the location from where consciousness originated. According to the Ancient Mayan 2012 Codex, it is this  place from which The Supreme Creator both creates and destroys. Hunab Ku controls everything in this Galaxie and acts through cyclic phases whereby Consciousness Energy is propelled from the galactic center. This opens a portal or gateway which bathes our DNA with a conciousness energy and allows us to become one with the universe. Ahau is term which refers to the Sun and Ajpu is the term which refers to the Light from which we Originated and where we all will Return. Both terms show us that the end of our familiar physical existence and the beginning of a brand new awareness or existence will allow those transposed into in a higher dimension. The Mayan 2012 Codex had delivered a message through the Mayan Long Count Calendar that on 20-12-2012,  there will be a cosmic alignment between the Earth, Sun, and the center of the Milky Way Galaxy – Hunab Ku. According to the ancient Maya codex, this date will mark the return of Quetzalcoatl. Cygnus  shows hot gasses from a giant blue star flowing toward a black hole, forming a bright accretion disk. Perpedicular to this disk there is an intense Cosmic Particle beam thrown off.We will be passing through this beam. This astronomical event was  absolutely very significant to the ancient peoples. Time to the Mayans was not linear but rather cyclicle. This event took place before. Ask yourself - are truly you prepared for the coming of the Cosmic gateway alignment in 2012.

According to researcher and author William Henry, this alignment is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree, The Tree of Life, a Tree remembered as sacred in all the world's spiritual traditions. Emerging from this tree, or star alignment, comes a serpent (DNA) rope with an enlightened being named Nine (9, Closure) Winds (Wormholes, Spirals, StarGates, SG, Sacred Geometry). Nine Winds is Quetzalcoatl riding upon a blessed substance the Mayans called itz (literally 'the blessed substance') apparently spewing from it. In Mayan belief a serpent rope emerges from the center of the galaxy, symbolized by an 8-rayed or 8-spoked wheel. Cosmic sap oozes from this world tree or cosmic cross.
